Em Skow is responsible for developing and executing on the Growth Marketing and Communications strategy for Seminars at the Aspen Institute. She works closely with the Business Development and Program teams to create targeted campaigns that support the various leadership seminar offerings; all with the goal of fostering values-based leadership across corporate, non-profit, and government sectors and within our broader society.
For the four years prior to joining the Aspen Institute, Em led strategic brand campaigns and oversaw the execution of integrated marketing initiatives for a diverse range of technology clients–including Microsoft–as Senior Marketing Director at a boutique PR & Marketing agency. She also spent nearly 10 years at IBM Federal working alongside government agencies to develop communications, change management, training, engagement, and marketing programs that inspired action & adoption.
Originally from the Chicagoland area, Em received a Bachelor’s in English, Creative Writing with a minor in European Area Studies from Miami University and has a Masters in PR & Corporate Communications from Georgetown University. She currently resides in DC where she is an active participant in the performing arts community as the Communications Director & a Soprano in the 18th Street Singers as well as a Contributing Writer/Reviewer for DC Theater Arts.
