Emily Jusino is the Assistant Director of the Office of Curriculum and Moderators at the Aspen Institute. She provides training and support for the Aspen moderator corps, assists in curriculum sourcing and design, and manages the day-to-day operations of OCM.
Before coming to the Aspen Institute, Emily was a professor of Classics at Duke University and the University of Rochester. She taught classes in the languages and literature of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds. Her research focused on deception and stagecraft in Greek tragedy. She has presented her work at numerous conferences, both national and international, and has published several articles on ancient drama. Moreover, her interest in ancient drama is not solely scholarly, since she is also an amateur thespian and has performed in or directed over a dozen productions of ancient plays.
Emily has a B.A. in Theater and Classics (Phi Beta Kappa) from William and Mary (as a William & Mary Scholar and Monroe Scholar), and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Classics from the University of Chicago (as a Special Trustees Fellow). In addition to her regular work, Emily has also been a certified Jazzercise instructor and franchise owner for over 20 years.
