Emily Rom is the Aspen Institute’s Director of Stewardship, Campaign Manager, and Assistant Corporate Secretary. She oversees the stewardship department which is a committed to fostering a culture of gratitude across the organization. Through custom donor and endowment reporting, internal scholarship funds management, donor recognition societies, and other stewardship activities, the department shares impact with the organization’s partners and investors. As Campaign Manager, she works closely with senior staff and fundraising staff to build support for the Strategic Plan and Institute goals. As Assistant Corporate Secretary, Emily supports all activities of the Board of Trustees.
Previously, Emily held roles at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History and Archives of American Art during the Smithsonian’s $1.5 billion campaign. Through supporting major gift teams and managing annual giving, gift processing, and fundraising galas, Emily was a crucial part of the teams that worked to expand the reach of the Smithsonian during the largest campaign of cultural institution.
Originally from southwest Florida, Emily received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and History from Florida State University and a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from the George Washington University. As an avid home baker and Washington Capitals fan, you can find her spending her spare time testing new recipes and rooting on Ovechkin!
