Gema Vizueth is 2021 My World México Ambassador and a Geologist with degrees from Universidad de Guanajuato and Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo. She currently works in the Secretaría del Migrante y Enlace Internacional of Gunajuato focusing on migration issues, and working for those who seek for a better future, including Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Venezuela. In her role, she assists the most vulnerable immigrants, working with those who walk for freedom or risk their lives on dangerous routes just to get to the Northern country of America. Through her work, she provides food, water, shelter, medical and physiological care, and legal advice so their human rights are not violated.
As a child Gema and her family emigrated to the United States and experienced multiple scenarios where we were discriminated for being undocumented. This experience left her better prepared to assist the most vulnerable immigrant communities. Selected to participate in Socrates Summer Seminars: De-Institutionalizing Racism: How Did We Get Here / Where Are We Going?
