Jessica de Jesus (Albany, New York) has over 20 years of experience working in the nonprofit arena with a strong commitment to serving economically disadvantaged individuals through the promotion of healthy interdependence within the community. Strong emphasis on self-empowerment through the strength based model. She is part of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) initiative in 14 community-based workforce organizations that have received grants as part of two new pilot study programs to increase employment, workforce mobility and family economic security across the country. This initiative, Supporting Transitions to Employment for Parents (STEPS), is very relevant to ASCEND’s 2Gen model and work.
