Intern, the Future of Work Initiative

Jordan Smith is the Future of Work Initiative's intern. She studies Political Science and Economics at the University of Rochester.

Jordan Smith is a student at the University of Rochester, where she studies Political Science and Economics. Prior to her work at the Aspen Institute, she worked as a Communications Fellow for Hillary for America in New Hampshire, drafting issue-focused op-eds, compiling daily media clips, and writing briefings and memos about local issues, such as the New Hampshire opioid crisis. She’s worked on several state and federal campaigns, including Anne McLane Kuster’s 2014 race and Obama’s reelection campaign in 2012, and worked as a Community Organizer for NextGen Climate.

At the University of Rochester, she works in the Gwen M. Greene Career Center as a Peer Career Advisor and in the Office of Admissions as a Social Media Ambassador. She also served in the University’s Students’ Association Government as a Senator and Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee, where her achievements included developing recommendations for higher quality undergraduate academic advising and exploring ways to promote cultural diversity though the Rochester curriculum. She has a strong interest in public policy and political communications.
