Judy Josefowicz, Manager of Neighbourhoods at United Way Toronto, has worked in the private, public, and non-profit sectors, leading teams of colleagues, consultants, clients, and partners through community-building initiatives in workforce development and economic inclusion, multi-stakeholder collaboration, strategic planning, organizational capacity building, and urban revitalization. Her recent experience includes leading the start-up of a place-based and sector-based workforce development strategy to connect people to local jobs created through public investments and infrastructure projects, and using a social innovation approach to create inclusive local economic opportunities catalyzed by investment and land development in Toronto’s inner suburbs.
Judy Josefowicz is a member of the Toronto Sector Skills Academy, Class of 2016-17, one of several Workforce Leadership Academies in localities across North America.
The Workforce Leadership Academies are part of the Economic Opportunity Fellows Network, a network of leadership and fellowship programs run by the Aspen Institute Economic Opportunities Program. Within this Network, EOP connects national and local leaders from across sectors — nonprofit, government, business, philanthropy, academia, and more — to advance policies and practices with the potential to help low- and moderate-income Americans thrive in today’s economy.
