Julia Merjan is the Program Development Associate with the Aspen Institute’s Energy & Environment Program. In this role, Julia plays a critical role in supporting the program to meet its annual fundraising targets and build relationships with program partners. She assists the team in identifying and researching prospects, cultivating and soliciting donors, and developing and implementing a stewardship strategy.
Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, Julia served as the Development Coordinator for Concern Worldwide, a global humanitarian organization focused on helping the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. She has also worked for the North Shore Exchange, an award-winning luxury resale boutique whose profits fund grants to Chicagoland organizations that serve underprivileged children and families at or below the poverty line. She has interned with Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and Ravinia Festival.
Julia holds a BA in International Relations from Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies and is currently based in New York City. She is originally from the suburbs of Chicago.
