Kathryn Benz is the Senior Policy Manager for the Aspen Institute Shipping Decarbonization Initiative where she works with policy makers, businesses, non-profit partners, and external experts to build coalitions and develop policy strategies to accelerate decarbonization of maritime shipping in the United States and internationally. Kathryn has extensive policy experience working in and outside the federal government. She has contributed to a wide array of environmental and natural resource policy issues, including maritime issues, and has a particular interest in developing collaborative and innovative solutions to complex policy challenges. Kathryn received a J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law, and her B.A. in Environmental Studies and Political Science from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
