Lani is a consultant focused on youth and peacebuilding projects at MY World México. She is a graduate from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where she studied issues of Peace and Conflict. She was a teacher of Peace and Conflict at the University of Uppsala, Sweden. Her thesis on youth, peace and security included field work at the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, and postgraduate studies in ecumenism at the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
Lani is keen on issues relating to international relations and leads portfolios relating to research analysis, capacity sharing, counselling, and workshops facilitation, conflict transformation, human rights awareness, and local leadership development. Given her intercultural preparation and skills, she has been successful in working with different actors from diverse contexts and stakeholders from the public sector, civil society, academic institutions, and international organizations at local, national and global levels. She has collaborated professionally with the Center for International Studies, Gilberto Bosques of the Senate of the Republic, and in non-governmental organizations such as Educampo and GYAN México. And has consulted on peace and development issues for the Global Peace Foundation, Living Positive Kenya, and Jitegemee Pamoja. She currently serves as a senior analyst for the Danish consultancy OAM that works with the African Union and the United Nations on youth and peace issues, as well as disarmament and demobilization programs for child soldiers
