Laura MacCleery is Senior Director, Public Policy, and a new member of the UnidosUS team. Her current portfolio includes working with the teams on Health and Economic policy change, assisting in strategic and staff development, and working to align goals on policy change and efforts with policy decisionmakers across the institution, including on intersectional matters. Over the past twenty years, Laura has been at the forefront of policy development and strategy at a wide range of intellectually rigorous consumer protection and public health organizations, including Public Citizen, the Brennan Center for Justice, the Center for Reproductive Rights, Consumer Reports, and the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI). She has been a driving force for reforms that quietly make a difference for millions of people. She has published dozens of reports, written or edited hundreds of regulatory comments, assisted in litigation more than a dozen times against federal agencies, been quoted by the press frequently and appeared on radio and television, and led teams of up to fifty policy associates. She clerked in the Colorado Supreme Court and is a 1999 graduate of Stanford Law School and a 1994 graduate of the University of Virginia.
