Liz Lopez serves as YWCA USA’s senior director of social impact investing and external affairs. She is responsible for leading the organization’s efforts to develop and execute a social impact investment strategy, including the YWCA Women’s Empowerment Exchange Traded Fund (NYSE: WOMN) and the Opportunity Zones program, as well as manage external engagement with community development financial institutions (CDFIs), fund managers, foundations, investors, nonprofits, and other key stakeholders. Liz has over a decade of experience advising Fortune 500 companies, businesses, and nonprofits on economic development, government relations, legal matters, and strategic partnerships. Prior to joining YWCA USA, Liz served as the head of public policy at a national financial services organization and as a government relations advisor at a top-ranked bipartisan firm in Washington, D.C. Liz has leveraged her experience in the public and private sectors to develop and execute strategies to advance economic inclusion, funding of federal government programs, and tax initiatives; led advocacy campaigns to engage policy makers and administration officials; and built and enhanced relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Liz has served as a board member and officer of several organizations, including the CDFI Coalition, the Hispanic Lobbyists Association (HLA), the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), and the Native CDFI Network, and she has been featured as a contributor on economic issues and a policy commentator on CNN, NBC, Univision, and Telemundo. Liz holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from Boston College Law School. Selected to participate in 2019 Executive Seminar.
