Mercedes Salazar (Colombia) the story began at her seven years when Mercedes told her mother: “When I grow up I want to be jeweler.” It was in Mexico, in Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes INBA, where she learned the craft of jewelry. Loving the power to transform the materials into treasure, Mercedes began her jewelry 14 years ago in her living room with the certainty that the jewels connect man with the universe. Her challenge is to keep the traditional techniques and ancestral traditions alive by including in the production chain of people who have a job likely to recover.
