Michael Cyr is the Executive Director of The Opportunity Initiative, the largest coordinated economic mobility campaign in U.S. history, with an innovative approach to improving financial health that includes Opportunity Knocks, an award-winning reality TV show designed to drive engagement with practical financial solutions.
With a passion for financial inclusion and financial health, he has spearheaded innovative initiatives that bridge the gap between traditional banking and underserved communities, including managing the underserved customer strategy for a top 25 bank. Through his strategic guidance, he drove the creation of one of the largest financial health datasets in the world, leveraging insights to drive transformative changes in the approaches to financial inclusion, witnessing increased participation and improved financial health outcomes.
A New England native, he currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama with his husband, Bill, and their dogs. When not working, Michael enjoys running, reading mysteries, and exploring ramen shops around the world.
