Mireya Valverde Okón coordinates the Financial Action Group within the the Head of Delegation of Mexico on matters of prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism. In her role, she participates in meetings and forums of international organizations specialized in the field of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing as the Task Force Financiera (GAFI), the Latin American Financial Action Task Force (GAFILAT) and the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units, among others in order to comply with the international commitments adopted by the government of Mexico. She is knowledgeable on the laws, regulations, agreements and decrees related to matters that correspond to competence of the FIU, participate in the determination and issuance of typologies, guides and best practices for the financial sector and activities.
