Monserrat Garcia is pursuing her dream through an Associate in Applied Science for Baking and Pastry Arts at the Washburne Culinary and Hospitality Institute at Kennedy King College. She is currently attending college and will be graduating in the spring of 2021. Monserrat plans on opening her own bakery shop, continue her family tradition, and to keep the recipes of her ancestors alive. She contributes to events with the Telpochcalli Community Education Project Ollin Youth often donating her baked goods. Monserrat Garica is an Aspen Young Leaders Fellow in the 2020-2021 Chicago cohort.
