Oscar Padilla is a specialist in information technology within Mexico’s criminal justice and public safety systems. He has a degree in Information Technology Administration from the Universidad del Valle de México and a master’s degree in e-government and e-commerce implementation from the University of Guadalajara.
His last responsibility was to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation capacities of 22 institutions of the criminal justice system in 14 cities across Mexico, within the framework of the international cooperation program provided by the United States to Mexico through its PROJUSTICIA USAID program. Also, he has been a coach to catalyze solutions by the justice systems to domestic violence in the cities of Hermosillo, Tepic, and Saltillo.
He has worked in state and federal public institutions directing actions related to information technology, statistics, quality and innovation management, criminal justice, and public security. In his teaching activity, he has taught courses and workshops in various parts of the country on topics such as cybercrime, digital transformation applied to the justice sector, the evaluation of justice systems from civil society, among others.
Oscar has penned many articles and opinion pieces on technology, electronic media, and cyber security, all of which are available on his blog. Selected to participate in the 2020 Socrates Romania Transatlantic Seminar.
