Oscar Rivas is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in government at Cornell University. He has volunteered for opportunities that aim to help people in need by providing them with resources meant to benefit them in Chicago. Oscar plans to attend graduate school and to become a lawyer, through which he hopes to bring about change to society, where justice is present in everyday life. His volunteer service has centered on helping those less fortunate and in promoting sustainability. He is very concerned about environmental issues and their impact on marginalized communities. Selected as a 2021 Aspen Young Leaders Fellow-Chicago.
