Paula Mendoza (New York, New York) is a Colombian jewelry designer and craftswoman, who launched her eponymous brand in 2007 after moving to the United States. Colombia serves as her main inspiration, not only because Paula was born there, but also because it is the location of her workshop and source of raw materials. Paula’s jewelry exemplifies the richness of Colombian gold and the power of emerald green. A former journalist, Mendoza became interested in jewelry about a decade ago, and went to Peru to learn the craft. Soon after, she began producing pieces made from local materials at a studio in her hometown of Bogotá. After studying with local artisans across South America and experimenting with different stones and metals, Paula fully submerged herself into the world of jewelry. Participated in Aspen Institute Global Health and Development TEDWomen Conference.
