Rafael Alonso is a Global Shaper from Mexico City and New Business Manager at New Ventures. He has designed acceleration programs for social and environmental startups in Mexico and Peru. He has also participated as a judge, coach and mentor in competitions such as Hult Prize, Village Capital, BioStartUp Peru, Emprendedores Expansión, 1776 Challenge Cup, Campus Party Mexico, among others. Prior to New Ventures, Rafael was a Consultant at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. He also worked at Ogilvy Public Relations and he co-founded a mezcal brand. Rafael studied Liberal Arts at Colorado College. He is part of the United World College network and the Climate Reality Leadership Corps.
