Rodrigo Pérez Ortega is an award-winning freelance science journalist based in Washington, D.C. His work has been published in Nature, The New York Times, Science News, Knowable, and Mongabay, among others. In the past, he was a fellow at The Open Notebook, as well as a correspondent and editor for Medscape en Español. He is a founding member of the Mexican Network of Science Journalists and hold a master’s in Science Communication from UC Santa Cruz and a bachelor’s in biomedical science from UNAM. Selected to participate in 2020 Science & Society Program: Aspen Global Congress on Scientific Thinking and Action.
