Sascha Shroff is the Program Coordinator for the International Partners at the Aspen Institute. Sascha graduated Summa cum laude from American University’s School of International Service in Washington, DC with honors. Sascha was a member of the School of International Service Honors Program and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Academic Honor Society and the Sigma Iota Rho Honor Society for International Studies. Upon graduating, Sascha received the Excellence in Regional Area Studies Award for Sub-Saharan Africa from the School of International Service and an award for her senior honors thesis on how microloans have impacted the socio-economic status of women in the Mukuru slum in Nairobi.
During her time as an undergraduate, Sascha held numerous internships with numerous organizations including the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues (S/GWI) at the U.S. Department of State, the Centre for Rights Education and Awareness, the Democratic National Committee, Rumi Forum, the National Organization for Women, and the Aspen Institute. Outside of work, Sascha was a member of the American University Model United Nations team, the #1 nationally ranked Model United Nations team, the president of Days for Girls at American University, and the president of her sorority, Delta Gamma. During her junior year, she studied abroad in Brussels, Belgium, and Nairobi, Kenya. She was also a FEZANA UN-NGO Committee Delegate at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) at the United Nations.
