Sol is a first-generation college student double-majoring in Political Science and Journalism at Rutgers University – Newark. Her passion for immigration and women’s rights have shaped her identity and the work she hopes to conduct in the future. While she isn’t exactly sure which way her career is headed, Sol knows she wants to elevate the voices of those who often feel unheard. Whether she does this through research or in the newsroom, she hopes her work will allow her to explore more about the systems that we live in and how they disproportionately affect communities of color. When she’s not in class, she spends her time as the Event Coordinator for the local International Relations organization and is also a fellow at America Needs You. Her hobbies include reading, watching foreign films, and spending time with her dog, Kiwi.
