Suzanne Berger, a recognized leader in strategy development and philanthropic giving, serves as Executive Vice President for Institutional Advancement at the Aspen Institute. She previously served as Vice President for Philanthropic Strategy and Leadership Gifts. She brings to the Institute more than 10 years of success in building creative fundraising campaigns, mobilizing top-level philanthropic strategies and engagement, and establishing enduring relationships that have delivered measurable results and impact across both the for-profit and non-profit worlds.
Prior to the Institute, Suzanne worked for Year Up where she served as the organization’s first Campaign Director. In that role she established all aspects of two campaigns, working directly with top level donors and Board members, and leading a team of more than 45 development professionals to exceed their goals. Under Suzanne’s leadership, the team raised $242M in four years against a five-year $225M campaign and most recently, raised $400M in just over three years against a five-year $400M goal. Suzanne’s background also includes leadership in fundraising at Deerfield Academy and, prior to that, a successful history in private equity and finance.
