AEFI Practical Guides

AEFI’s practical guides are intended to facilitate selective use of the comprehensive research reports generated through the National Study of Artist-Endowed Foundations. The intended audience is artists who are exploring the possibility of creating a foundation or preparing for that step, family members who are supporting that exploration or may be considering it themselves as an artist’s beneficiary, and persons who might potentially play a role in foundation formation and governance. The practical guides are organized around questions artists often ask about this topic and provide references to the sections of the Study Report that pertain to these questions. Their aim is to assist the artist in establishing a foundation that will be successful in fulfilling its charitable purposes in art stewardship and cultural philanthropy.
