Bolstering How U.S. Federal and State Officials Share Incident Information
As the U.S. Congress moves closer to enacting a federal cyber incident reporting requirement (and as the administration fractures over how best to craft it), it is important to remember that there is another path — the federal government’s partnership with the fifty states. With joint task forces in place, officials from both the Federal Bureau of Investigations and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency could receive access to the information they need to understand and respond to pressing cybersecurity challenges.
