This resource provides an overview of residential construction work in the United States including information about the demographics of workers in the industry, the size of the workforce, wages and benefits, and working conditions. The resource was developed as part of an event AspenWSI held on October 18th, 2012 titled “The Housing Market’s Foundation: A Discussion on the Workforce in Residential Construction,” The Housing Market’s Foundation: A Discussion on the Workforce in Residential Construction (link to video) which is part of AspenWSI’s series, “Reinventing Low-Wage Work: Ideas That Can Work for Employees, Employers and the Economy.”
