The Aspen Institute

This report describes the proceedings of two meetings initiated by WSI in Spring 2004. These meetings brought together sectoral practitioners, researchers and funders to discuss the direction of industry-specific workforce development and ways the field can expand its impact. This report provides ideas and suggestions for how the field of sectoral workforce development can enhance its capacity to serve low-income workers and identifies important questions to investigate further. An overview of sector research and a bibliography of articles and publications about the field are included in the report appendices.
