FIELD‘s annual US Microenterprise Census surveys microenterprise development organizations about the scale and scope of services they offer to microbusinesses. The FY 2013 Census Highlights report indicates that microenterprise programs continue to focus on individuals who lack access to business capital and technical assistance: women, people of color, and low-income individuals. And with a median cost per individual assisted of $1,480, financial and business development services are provided cost effectively.
