“Despite what’s in the news, despite what our algorithms tell us about one another, despite the language we speak or who is in government, I can tell you one thing: that there are always, always, always people working day in and day out at great costs to grow life anyway.”
– Dar Vanderbeck, Vice President, Aspen Global Leadership Network
Today, we are face to face with a critical juncture, where our leadership is more consequential than ever before. But, even more consequential is no action at all. As Vice President of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, Dar Vanderbeck reminded us at the 2024 Resnick Aspen Action Forum, referencing Gandhi, “He had a vision and an invitation and the belief that the messy process of figuring it out together was worth it.”
Change, action, and leadership is not always clear, perfect, or meticulously planned. It is ever evolving and it is necessary. If people can come together, look past difference and work towards the shared vision for a better world, then there is hope – the key for growth, resiliency, and momentum into the way forward.
