Data is often thought of as a panacea that will provide easy answers for tough questions. Currently, we are faced with a crisis that puts us as individuals, communities, and nations in the position of making difficult decisions in the absence of good information. Would good data help us come up with good solutions? Are some decisions not helped by more or better data?
