Emily Lawrence is a former Scowcroft Fellow and current Aspen Strategy Group Fellow with the Aspen Strategy Group. She joined the Aspen Strategy Group from United Way of Northeast Florida where her work as Affinity Groups Manager supported local programs in health and human services. Prior to this, she served as the Deputy Finance Director for Ambassador Nancy Soderberg’s congressional campaign in Florida District 6. She earned her Master of Science in International Relations from the London School of Economics where her studies focused on diplomacy, foreign policy analysis, and international political theory. Her graduate dissertation examined American space policy towards the Soviet Union and China through the lens of constructivist theory. In 2013, she interned in the UK Parliament in the office of the Deputy Leader of the House of Commons at the time, Tom Brake MP. She has been published on Project Syndicate as a co-author with Dr. Anne-Marie Slaughter. She graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University with her Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and a minor in Economics. She is originally from Jacksonville, FL.
