Kateryna Halstead is the Program Assistant for the Aspen Strategy Group. Previously, she was a Google Public Policy fellow with the Progressive Policy Institute, working on the crossover between regulation, policy, and critical emerging technologies. Kateryna has also worked as a researcher for the Atlantic Council and the Center for Strategic and International Studies, focusing on asymmetric warfare, disinformation, extremism, and great power competition research. Her studies at Johns Hopkins SAIS focused on security, strategy, and statecraft, and her capstone culminated in a research trip to Beijing and Kunming, China to supplement her research on the Chinese political economy and the intersection between economic policies and the real estate crash in China. In her free time, Kateryna enjoys salsa dancing, biking, and trying out new culinary creations.
